Hoya rigidifolia, This new species is named for its stiff leaves. known to originate only from locality types in the lowland forest of Siberut Island, southern Sumatra, Indonesia. the flowers are only open for one day, like the H. finlaysonii flowers which are also open for one day and have similar flower morphology (rotate corolla, ovoid corona lobes of the same size). However, the two species are easily separated based on the character of the leaves. and this type of hoya has been categorized as very rare in its natural habitat.
