Hoya hypolasia, found in Papua New Guinea (PNG). discovered by Schlechter on 27 July 1908 and published in 1913. When first seen, this plant grows in trees in hilly forest on the banks of the river at an altitude of about 400 m above sea level. This is a highly branched Hoya that needs good support. The leaves of Hoya hypolasia are tender and the veins are visible and can be up to six inches long. the flowers are golden yellow and have a yellow crown, this hoya is categorized as very rare in its habitat.
